what is a good remote starter?

Hi all, I am a newbie at this, can anyone tell me what kind of remote starter I should buy. And where can I find people to install it? Thanks

As already stated this is not a simple answer. What features do you want? What kind of operating range do you expect? If you want a standard system you will get decent range but now they offer systems that work up to a mile away, and Audiovox offers a piece that will allow you to control your system functions using a telephone (it works like a beeper). Typically a shop that sells one particular brand uses that brand because that shop has had good success with it. My personal big three would be DEI (Viper, Python, Sidewinder, Avital, etc.), Compustar, and Audiovox/Code Alarm. I have installed each of these brands and the quality of the units, features offered, programming options and warranty of the units are my determining factors. If you are looking to have a system installed why not hit the find installers link at the top of the page and go with what that particular installer recommends and can warranty.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

I use DEI's UNGO brand which is the same as the Viper and Sidewinder. I also use the Code Alarm CA-520 and CA-410. Lifetime warranty on these brands and I never had a problem with any of them with well over1,000 installed. Stay away from the bubble-wrapped brands that you would see in a Wal-mart or Target etc and anyone that emphasizes DIY on the box.
