12V Police Scanner

Does anyone know of a good 12V police scanner. Preferably able to recieve trunkable/digital radio signals.Certified Security Specialist

The UNIDEN Model BC245XLT is a 300 channel hand held unit that is a trunk tracker. Retails for aprox. $259.95 Or the UNIDEN Bearcat 250D which sells for $349.95 USD. The last one requires a BCi 25D Digital Card in order to monitor APCO P-25 Digital Systems. Assuming you need this feature. Regards EVIL Teken . . .

I check you state and local laws. Most states have them. Do you want one "mounted" or you just want a hand held. I have not heard of any laws on hand helds in cars. If you want one mounted that what you need to check into. If you have your FCC ( Ham raido license) should not be a problem. If you do get one make sure it can monitor digtal. If your area doest not have digtal still get the bearcat scanner that can aceept the digtal card, this will save you money in the long run, so you dont have to buy another scanner down the road. Kept in mind, the system can have both anlog and digtal.   if these is the case usally digtal is for "uncover" work. Also most system can be change to digtal very easy and quikly. Before you go spend a lot of money, find out ALL system in your area. One system still cant be tunked on scanners you can here the conversation and you can hit the scan button to here the rest of it.
