I don't know if this is the right forum for the topic but I would like to do something like this if possible.  The idea is that with a keypad I could enter the security code and the accessory/ign would power up...and then a seperate button(s) would engage the starter and turn off the ignition etc.. Has there been any tutorials on doing this or does anybody know specifically what would need to be done to achieve this? I'm not currently attempting this or anything, before I do I just wanted to know if it was possible. Thanks

I had a similar question a while back, but it was for keyless entry into a vehicle with a keypad. There's a link on this post that has a keypad for the starter I think. Worth checking out.

its not that hard to do if you plan in building it from scratch, a microcontroller would be nice, but you can get it to work with a few components, depending on the features
