Just put the wire from the remote start to the neg trunk release wire. the only time you would have to use a relay in this situation is if the trunk release was positive, reverse polarity, or required a high current ground.

Pin 85 = +12 volts

pin 86= - 200ma from alarm

pin 87= Ground

Pin 30= Trunk wire(RED / White in your case)

Pin 87a=unused

Pin 86 turns relay on and connects 87, ground, to 30 trunk wire as long as 86 is sending the -200ma's. I've always wired  a relay for the trunk pop. it helps protect the alarm, seeing how most are only 20ma's which is just enough to power the SPDT relay you'll be using. I'll bet if you pull the "button" on the car you'll see 1 side is grounded to the frame and the other is a RED / White wire.

Good Luck,

Jeff
