bought my eclipse about 2 weeks ago while the cd player wasnt hooked up i can usually hook them up without breaking a wire strand. but this time im just clueless nothing matchs. looked on the net for diaphrams but none helped. heres the wire info.
Dash wire colors.
Black striped blue
yellow striped red
orange striped black
black striped yellow
black striped red
green striped white
white striped black
gray striped blue
white striped red
gray striped red
yellow striped blue
CD wire colors.
white
green
purple
gray
gray striped black

blue

Is the CD player factory? If it is an after market then the colors would be
white        left front(+)
WHITE/ black left front(-)
gray        right front (+)
gray/black   right front (-)
green        left rear (+)
GREEN/ black left rear (-)
purple       right rear (+)
PURPLE / black right rear (-)
red          12v+ acc
yellow       12v+ constant
black        ground
blue        remote turn on
blue/white   power antenna turn on

its sony 5 drive.
the problem is i got the info on what the speaker wires are, but after all that i have 3/4 wires left over.
red,blue ( not antenna ),yellow
unsure what to connect them to, the info you gave helps me but doesnt give me really what im looking for, im looking for the lazy way out, prelisted on what wires hook to each other.

heres the set up i got now.
PURPLE / black to gray/red
purple to yellow/red
gray to BLACK/ red
gray/black to WHITE/ red
white to WHITE/ blue
WHITE/ black to black blue
green to yellow/blue
GREEN/ black to gray/blue
blue/white to ??
yellow to ?? ( im sure of seeing a plastic covering with the words "amp on? "
black ( not the ground on back of the metal plate ) to ???
red to ???
the colors i got left from the dash are
ORANGE / black
GREEN / WHITE
and either 2 or 1 more. unsure of.
