1996 ford falcon xh ute xr6

i have bought a car alarm with a remote start, and it is wanting me to hook up a "start check".

And i am stuck on finding the battery indicator as that is what the alarm is looking to hook up to.

If this system doesn't have a "tach" wire for tach sensing, don't install it, it won't work.

Strangely enough, I can find no info on your vehicle, either here or on Directechs.  2 questions:- Petrol or diesel, petrol with injection and does the vehicle have a tachometer (rev counter)?

yea very strange. it may have soming to do with the veichle only being made for 1 year but ya still would of thought that there would be some sort of manuel on the internet. 2 answers:- Petrol and yes it does have a tach altho it is a sealed eletronic dash making it hard to find the right wires.

OK, it wil either have a coil, distributor side connector also maked - or you will have 1 injector for each cylinder. One wire will be a common colour for each injector. It's the other wire you want, any injector will do. Incidentally, did the Falcon have a Mercury "sister" car that was made for longer? There might be info on that and they are probably the same as regards wiring, in the UK all current Fords share wiring except the Focus RS which shares an engine with Volvo and ignition system with Volvo and Land Rover Freelander.
