Hello,
I am looking for wiring diagrams for a compustar remote start installation with an idatalink ADS-Blade. I have heard I only need to connect power, etc and that the bypass module will handle everything else.. is this true?

You will need a ADS Blade AL flashed with Blade AL(DL) TL1 firmware.  Here is a link to the install guide which shows

all the necessary wiring :  http://www.idatalink.com/support/get-install-guide/guide_id/6781    As shown on the Type 3
diagram, the Compustar's Ignition1 output, with diode, is used.   Below is a notice from the install guide.

IMPORTANT:

1- NO TAKEOVER AVAILABLE.  UPON OPENING VEHICLE DOOR ENGINE WILL SHUTDOWN.
2- ALL DOORS MUST BE CLOSED TO REMOTE START VEHICLE.

Soldering is fun!
