I'm planning to install some auxiliary reverse lights for plowing snow.  I will install them with a relay and on-off-on switch.  I would like to keep the relay in the cab or under the hood to protect it a little.  I need a reverse signal to the switch to excite the relay.  Is there a wire in the cab?  Under the hood? Color, general location?

Thanks in advance

Yeah BLACK/ pink sounds normal for a ford aside from pulling the rear light out and tapping it right off of the bulb itself you SHOULD be able to pickup the wire in either the driver or passenger kick panel the wire has to run up front somewhere. I would say check the prewired trailer plug but I don't think they include reverse just park lights, brake, and blinkers probably so that's out. Pull the door sills and look through the harnesses underneath. Also might want to pull the taillight off quick to double check what color the wire will be. Fords usually have the BLACK/ pink for 12v reverse and plain black for ground.

Yeah, it's in the 7-way trailer plug, but I'd rather make a tap connection in a less "exposed" area than the back bumper!  I'll look for BLACK/ pink... you guys are awesome!!
