I took the tan with yellow tracer comming off of my tach sensor and got nothing.  Then i tried the other wire wich was solid green that was off the tach sensor.  Nothing.  How ever if i cut one of the wires the tach in the dash quits.  I thought the meter might of been wrong but the alarm will not read the signal if there is one.  Is there a way of maby taking it off the alternator.

I also tried these wires behind the instrument cluster too.

At a loss with the diesel install.  The glow plug wait is all working right.  It waits till the light goes out.  The truck starts and immediatly quits due to no input saying it is running.  Then tries this again twice.

Thanks for the response

Are these lines inside the cab of the truck, if so then they are not the correct wires. Set your meter to AV volts and go to the coil pack in the engine. One wire will show between 1 and 8 volts AC on the correct tach wire. May be a dark green / yellow wire.
