Hey Guys long time reader, first time poster. I am working on a 98 Grand Cherokee with the Inifinity system. I was mounting the 4 channel amp under the rear drivers seat and my drill slipped and a screw went through a bundle of wires. Now the amp gets power, the HU gets power but the speakers are not playing music. I popped all the speakers and they all still pop. I also changed out the HU and amp and still the same result. I am at wits end. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like you crucified the signal to the amp.  Best bet is to go into that wire harness & repair any damage you did.  And remove the errent screw if you haven't already.

Why put an amp under the driver's seat when you've got that great space under the rear seats anyway?  Where did you pop the speakers from?

Yeah, thats what I meant, I am putting the amp under the rear seat. I also changed out the RCA's. I don't know what the hell is going on!!!!! I am lost. I have installed before, this is why I am going nuts. I feel that there must be something stupidly small that I am missing.
Thanks

No way I can tell with the info you've given.  The driver's rear seat?  RCA's?  Stock or other HU?  Which wire cluster?  which amp?  Why don't you lay out what the whole setup is & exactly what ain't working & what you've tried, we'll see what we can do.

Okay, I am putting an Alpine 9845 and an Alpine MRP 420 4 channel amp in a 98 Grand Cherokee. I am putting the amp where the factory Infinity amp was, under the rear seat on the drivers side. I am using the factory leads. I popped each speaker from the factory harness. I then shot a screw through a bundle of wires that were beneath the carpet. The amp shut off and then I took the screw out, the amp turned back on, but no sounds from the speakers. I have changed the amp and the head unit and I have changed the RCA's, no changes. I have popped the speakers and they all still pop. I was wondering if you knew what the bundle of wires were that I stuck the screw in.

OK, better.  Where specifically was the wire bundle, and is it the one that leads in to the amp?  Where did the screw go into it?  You've got to get in there & repair those wires, chances are you've also dug into wires that do other things but won't notice until later.  For instance your taillights or the rear wiper, maybe the fuel guage sensor or rear ABS.

Also, you mention RCA's - is that what you're feeding the amp with?  If so, they should be intact, no?  then from the amp to the speakers, you're using the factory wiring that's under the rear seat?  Is this where you've popped the speakers from, or from the dash?  Try setting up a new wire to any speaker from the amp & see what happens - don't use the factory stuff.  Did you ever get sound from the speakers before the screw but after starting the install?

Also - what are you powering the amp with - factory wires or your own?  My next guess is that you've cut the remote leading to the amp from the HU.  Try shorting the remote at the amp with a jumper to the B+ amp terminal, that'll tell you.  Also, if using the factory wiring for power etc test those wries too, you may have cut them or blown the corresponding fuse under the dash.

I am going to run new speaker leads from the amp to the speakers. I hope this will do the trick, I am out of ideas and sanity. The wires that I sent the screw through, none actually broke, just the insulation. So I am going to tape them all up too. Thanks for all the help.

After thinking about it more, I really think your power supply, specifically the remote is most likely the problem.  I'd start there.  The chances of you damaging all four speaker leads at once are just too "remote" (excuse the pun).
