Trying to find the color code and the easiest loacation to tap into the wire from the switch to the rear defroster on a 1999 Ford Taurus 4D Sedan.  Also, is this a positive or negative triggered wire

test it with a multimeter.  just probe each wire, one at a time, and turn the defrost on and off until you see something change polarity or get power or ground through it, then proceed accordingly.

Thanks for the info.  The button is part of the football style radio system that Ford used several years ago and I was trying to avoid pulling that out if I could locate the wire somewhere else.

The 2000, is blue/orange...in that location. don't know about the 99 If it's there, it needs a "latched" pulse. negative.

it should be a blue/orange because my 98 was the same. it needs a pulse not a latch negative.
