I am in need of both a stereo wiring diagram and alarm wiring diagram for a 1978 Buick Electra 225. I am attempting to install a Viper 5000 series alarm, and am having difficulties with the door triggers. Thanks for a prompt response!

On all older GM vehicles the door trigger is white (negative). Get this at the door switch, jam/kick area OR at ANY domelight. Now this car is old as Moses so some of the door switches may be bad, you need to make sure each door turns on the domelight. Check all fuses as well since on the older GMs many circuits share the same fuse and dimes end up falling in the cig lighter socket etc., see it happen.

For Audio:

acc. yellow

ground...black

ill...gray

constant..orange (if not at radio you can tap off the lighter, same color)

power ant (if app) pink or yellow

Speakers (check if common fround..if so rewire)

LF + TAN      LF-   GRAY

RF+  LT GREEN   RF- DK GREEN

LR+ BROWN  LR- YELLOW

RR+ DK BLUE  RR- LT BLUE
