First Off: I dont condone the Driver watching DVDs while driving....

Secondly: All you have to do is ground that wire.....OR  Get a Simple SPST Switch....Ground one side of the switch and attach the Brake wire to the other side of the switch

Being that it is illegal to have a monitor in the drivers view if you ever get pulled over for the DVD thing all you have to do is flip the switch and the DVD wont work...JUST HIDE THE SWITCH WHERE THE COPS CANT SEE IT......

Hopefully the cop is fooled and you have no ticket....

No I'm sure the cop will still right you the ticket because if he already saw the screen, he ain't dumb enough to not know that you somehow switched it off.
Also I really hope you don't kill anybody driving around watching movies.

im wondering, with units like alpine's iva-d901, that allow you to watch everything BUT a dvd while driving (i.e. track info on song or navigation or like pioneers vehicle diagnostic info) how is the cop gonna see exactly what is displayed? Or is it that your not suppose to have the screen out at all?

as far as my understanding of the law is (correct me if I am wrong) Its only illegal to have a video image in view of the driver...The radio display isnt illegal...

I say this because of the new Units going into vehicles with NAV...They have a huge display right infront of the driver and its not illegal...

Your not suppose to have a video playing on a screen visible to the driver. That's the law in Manitoba, but it will differ from province to province and state to state.

I just got the P-NAV7015 (DDX7015 and KNA-DV4100) I installed it myself, and it works great! But I have only one problem; I can’t find the speed control wire on my ’04 Yukon xl  to activate the voice guidance system! Does any body know where it is or where can I find the info? I even went to the GMC dealership and they couldn't find it either!...In dash DVD Installation -- posted image.

the speed sense wire in your yukon is in a 1/2 inch loomed bundle of wires under the hood on the drivers side firewall, it is green with a white stripe

[Morning, I just installed the same unit and am having the same problem. But "everyone" is telling me that on these units......you don't need the Vss wire attached. So do you know for sure that once you attach that wire to the speed sensor, it will work?

So yours like mine works fine except for the Guidance part of it right? And here I thought something was defective. Now all I have to do is figure out where my VSS wire is in my Saab.

Thanks
