ok i hope this helps ---  sorry

I have an overhead factory DVD player that I am trying to install in my Explorer 02 XLT w/ sunroof.  I do not have the higher level radio or the body harnesses to connect it.  Can anyone provide pinout information so that I can build my own harness.

I do have the harness that goes from the player to the connector.

I have determined the following pinouts so far DVD harness to Body connector.

Pin 1 WHITE/ yellow +12 ?

Pin 2 not used

pin 3 black - ground ?

Pin 4 not used

Pin 5 not used

Pin 6 not used

Pin 7 not used

Pin 8 not used

Pin 9 not used

Pin 10 Red=?     audio out ?

Pin 11 White=?   audio out ?

Pin 12 Orange=?  audio out ?

Pin 13 Yellow=?  audio out ?

Pin 14 Black Shielded=?  Audio Grnd

Pin 15 ORANGE / black

Pin 16 BLACK/ blue

pin 17 not used

pin 18 lt blue/orange

pin 19 brown

pin 20 GREEN/ black

I have applied power to the player.  It will accept a DVD and spin it for 10 sec.  However the eject button does work other buttons and LCD do not function.

Any help would be appreciated

You are in luck!!!!!!!

I have installed the system in my Explorer EB 02.

First you mention you dont have the High end Radio, that is not good since the RADIO PROVIDES 2 signals to the rear entertainment called DATA BUS Protocol 1 and 2 and with out this the system will not work. I will have a radio available later on this moth for around 250.00 plus shipping. Also I will provive you with all the pin outs from the radio and the system. Let me know

Check out Installer.com they have Data Bus Adapters. You might need to call them to ask for one compatable with ford.

The out put from the TV is low signal you might need to add a line balancer High /low in order to add an AMP to hear anything.
