Currently I own a Kenwood KNA-DV2100 connected to a 915DVD that is about to be replaced with a KNA-DV4100. My main annoyance is that the menu on the navigation is severly limited while driving. Usually my girlfriend is operating the navigation anyway.
Is there a way to allow the normal use of navigation while allowing all of the menu functions? (ie disconnecting from the e-brake) I understand that disconnecting the VSS will cause problems w/ the navigation.
Thanks

Pull over and push the ebrake down. Then you will have full use of nav and can watch viceo.

Depending on your car, you may need to pull the ebrake up.

Why, I didn't even think about it that way.   True none the less.

While auex and oonikfraleyoo's suggestion will yield very effective results, you can also disconnect the e-brake lockout wire from the e-brake and hook it up to a switch for temporary use or just ground it permanently to have all menu options available.  Of course I am not telling you this so you can watch DVDs or mess with Navi while driving but instead for your wife to do the Navi while you keep your eyes on the road.

All of the replies on here are correct, but if you are referring to menu that appears at the bottom of the screen, in regards to your Navi functions, then you need to calibrate the system.  I received this information directly from Kenwood.  If your functions are not working when you are in motion, like the other installers said, you need to ground the Parking Lead out or hookup a switch
