2 - Do I need to hook up the tach wire? If so, can I connect in the cab? (can't get through the firewall)
Not absolutely necessary. You can try running in Virtual Tach Mode. Tach Mode provides more reliable start ups in cold climates
3 - Do I need to hook up the hood safety switch? Again, can't get through the firewall
No, but it is a very good safety measure.
4 - Will I be able to program with only one key? I bought this bypass because we only have one key
Not with the PKALL. You will need two, non-clone keys to program that bypass module.

That Black Ground is an aftermarket add-on. If it wasn't part of your install, I would try to follow
that wire to see if it goes to some sort of black box. It's possible that it was a tracking system the
rental car company added. Just as a note, a removable cross-bar is not an ideal location for a Chassis
Ground connection. Solid, unpainted, frame in the DKP or firewall area is preferred.
As for the door lock wires, try looking for those same color wires in the DPK area.
