I got a better idea... since $50 comes so easy for you why don't you buy me a copy and I will happily put it up as a torrent. If I am going to pay any amount of money for software it sure wont be a pirated copy of it. Maybe the new disk will end up locking you out on your N2 and you will require are help to fix the problem. When you do I will be sure to send you the bill. The reason I want the new disk is to see the differences in the files including the maps. I am attempting to make an editor so you as well as others will be able to add, change, remove streets. I am also working on a software fix for the lockout of the N1. All of my work will be free when I am done. The reason I want the west disk is because that's where I am located so I can test it. Putting up a torrent isn't hard work and I am sure people here will help seed it. I am seeding the east and west disk of the 50mt USA version right now so maybe someone else out there can help with this project. The Europe version of the 50Mt for the AVIC-X1 will be on a torrent later today

Yeah, a torrent will only help our cause. I would like to figure out the lookout problem and Datwo's editor sure sounds neat.

What Avic are you using software 60 on ... i just bought copies of CNDV-60MP East and West ... i just want to make sure before i INSTALL it ... that it WON't DISABLE my Video Lockout BYPASS on my AVIC-N2
i loaded the 60 on my d1, it works on the n1, n2 also but im not sure what it does on those, but it was designed for them also. $50 is way too much to spend for the disks, If someone has a server to up them at i would, or if enough people are interested in donating a few $ i can open up a seperate domain/host for them and let you dl the files, with full rights to use the space as storage for other things and mods for the nav unit. i would use my domain but my bandwidth isnt that great per month.

I agree.  All the work that is accomplished on this joint project is to better the software for all of us, not fatten our wallets.  This may be hard work for the ones that are decompiling and switching files around, but without the raw tools of the right software in these guys hands, the cause is futile and useless. I support fully anyone needing the software.   Unfortunatley  I do not know how to seed, or I would be sharing right now.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  I have the two 40 series and one 50 series available.

i used to be a software programmer, i currently have the n1 and am downloading the 50mt disc, i want to fix the lockout issues as well and would like to help anyway i can. And im guessing hte lockout is the same on the avic n3 as well, so a fix for one means a fix for the other.
the answer must lie in the europe versions that have no lockout, if i was to get my hands on that and the proper compiler/decompiler i might be able to come up with something

yEAH ITS to mouch for you to pay $50 for PIRATED copy but you don't mind getting PIRATED COPY for free right ... ok if you against Pirated Copies then wait for it from PIONEER and pay $275 coz that's how much they will charge you.

When you can explain to me why you deserve $50 for someone else's work then maybe we will think about it. I do not support pirating for financial gains. This is what you are doing. Getting a copy for your own personal use is one thing but turning around and selling it for profit is another. You wont be getting any money from me.

WHAT THE HELL you talking about man ... I SAID that I BOUGHT COPY for $50 ... I didn't say THAT I WANT TO SELL IT for PROFIT ... i just said ... if PEOPLE want it so BAD ... they can do what i DID ... go SEND the E-Mail to this guy and ALSO BUY IT FROM HIM ... where did you get your story about me trying to make PROFIT ...... ?????

OK, I see it isn't you that was trying to sell it. That still doesnt change how I feel on the subject. I wont be giving anyone money for a "copy" of software. If it was for the cost of the disk and postage then that's a different story but I wont pay for the actual software.

Really its a moot point that you bought the disks. If you are happy then I guess I will be happy for you. And as for giving the software away free or charging, both are wrong however look at it from this perspective. Why should he be paid $50 for them as well? Now, when you do get the disks do you think you can put up a torrent with them? I will wait. I mean after all you got a good deal so pass on your savings please.Modding Avic-N1/N2 Nav DVD’s - Page 20 -- posted image. I do agree with you that the disks are over priced and to be honest I feel you should be able to get updates at a nominal fee (Maybe $20 or so for at least 2 years) I mean Its not like they do a whole lot on changing the feature set. Its more of a map update. The funny thing is I installed the new 50MT version over my original 40MT and lost the street the goes to my house. Funny how an updated disk actually has incorrect  information that old version was just fine with. This is why I want an editor.  Also when pioneer decides that the product is at its end of life and doesnt make an update anymore then we will all be screwed. With an editor at least you can fill in the blanks on areas you will use it in.

Side note, has any programmer taken a look at the kiwi map format?
