97 Dodge Intrepid

I am transplanting a system from another car into this 97 Intrepid. I need to run the 4 gauge power wire to the amps in the trunk, where can I run this wire through the firewall? Every other car I have worked on I ran it through an electrical wiring boot, I can't find anywhere to do that on this car. I do not want to drill/grommet unless there is no other option. If anyone has done an install on one of these I would be interested to hear where you ran the power wire.

Also where can I find the correct box dimensions for an older pair of subs (4ohm 400w Boston Acoustics Rally Series...had them since '95) with no manuals, is there a web site? I want ot get the most out of these I have never had to build a box that was for a trunk (I have always had hatchbacks or SUV's) I know I don't want a bandpass, what is better in a trunk...sealed or ported?

Uh....I think that's it. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi CSanders73, there is a large grommet surrounding the speedometer cable high in the dash above the accellerator pedal. You can use a 30" phillips to push a snake wire through it from the engine compartment if necessary.

As far as which enclosure type is better is a matter of opinion....my preference much of the time is a sealed enclosure, but the only opinion that matters regarding your vehicle is yours.

Thanks for the advice on running the cable.

I just kept the subs in the sealed box I already had built (the subs need 1.56cf, the box was 1.58cf added some extra bracing...I'm in buisiness). They hit harder than ever!
