Hello all...

Here's my setup (temporary until I finish my fiberglassed box - can't live without bass.. hehe) I have a JVC Double DIN headunit (works great), outputting (via rear RCAs) to an amp which is connected to a 10" sub.

Just recently I was driving around (without any amp or anything connected) and my radio fuse blew (not on the deck, in my truck - 2000 GMC Sonoma). So I was like, whatever, replaced the fuse and it worked fine.

Shortly after, I tried connecting a 2 channel amp to a clarion sub and all I get is this crappy sound coming out of the sub... not even bass... but it's not highs either.. it's almost like static.

I'm running a 8 guage power wire from the engine bay (with an inline 50amp fuse) to the amp (which is only 30amp), 10 guage speaker wire to the sub which is bridged on the amp. The crossover on the amp is on, it's on low pass, but sounds like a$$.

Tried different amps, rcas and sub, same problem... I'm thinking it could be my deck... is there any way to find out if the rear rca output on my deck is messed up in any way (since my fuse blew). I should also mention that before my fuse blew I had borrowed my friend's system, a pioneer 2 channel amp with three rockford subs (in series) and it POUNDED like mad. In between switching the systems I always removed the fuse from the engine bay and the amp to make sure nothing ever shorted out.

Any ideas? Sorry for the novel.

Try running the front RCA's to the sub amp . Post your results here. If the sound is fixed, then you may have a bad rear output or cold solder points on the rear RCA jacks.
