Hi ,i have no choice but to ask you all for help.In my '95 BMW 318i i will install two half din pieces one being an eq and the other an capacitor charge display (half DIN),now because where they will go i have a problem with the depth, anyone familiar with the dash of 3 series BMW's can understand the problem. The two pices i would like to install them just below the trip computer, because there is a DIN space there but it's only just a little over 7 centimetres or 3" in depth and i need 14 centimetres or 5.25" depth.I contacted Metra,American International,Scoshe and none of them can help me,so it looks like a custom fibreglass job to me.Can anybody give me some instructions on what i should expect,i'm willing to try a few untill turns out the way i want it.Do i need to make a mold ?,how about after i sand it down how do i get to match the car's grain...,any tips. One other thing,is fibreglass usualy strong but with some flexibility right ?.
