Anyone have any info or opinions about Fusion Audio? Just general info...be it about their amps, subs, speakers, whatever. They're fairly new so I can't really find any good (unbiased) reviews on their products. Thanx in advance.

Well, I know that in my town they sell the stuff at pawn shops.  I've heard some cars around town bumpin' with some Fusion Audio stickers on the back but to me it didn't sound all that great.  One day I got an urge to go check out this 87' LeBaron Fusion Car Audio Trend.  I went into my local pawn shop and the salesman tried to tell me that an amp with one 20 amp fuse pumps out 2500 watts rms.  I think it had a rugby player as a sponser or something.  The price looked very attractive on there subs but I was drawn away when the pawn shop owner turned two twelves on and I was ran out of the shop by distortion and the annoying sound of woofers bottoming out.  From this experience I decided to steer clear of this great green brand of car audio.  But then again the price is attractive if your looking for dirty boom at a cheap price.  Once in a while a "low-end" brand comes out with a product that might impress me a little, but in the car audio market price is a good determinate of quality.  But who knows, maybe if someone besides a pawn shop were installing these Fusion components they might take new shape and actually sound half decent.  You never know.  This is my experience with this brand.  But it has been proven by many that a good sounding system is 90% install and 10% equipment.  Good luck man.  Hope I helped a little

i am guessing that mattirvin isnt familiar at all with fusion. the amp he spoke of is the fjl1211d, and this is fusion's flagship line, named after jonah luma, a new zealand rugby legend. the company is based out of new zealand, and they have only been is the u.s. for a short time. the jonah amp does not have one 20 amp fuse, it has three 40 amp fuses.in the last spl system i built i used this amplifier. it is impressive to say the least. i also used a fp 1404 four channel amp. i feel this is a pretty nice unit also.this amp has three 30 amp fuses. the speaker lines are all of good quality also. there are four different speaker models. the encounters, the f-series, the power plants, and the jonah luma series. for the spl system i used power plants. the jonah's are just to damned expensive! but they are extremely nice. the 12" power plant has a 200 oz. magnet, a 2.5" voice coil, a 900watt max rating, and dual voicecoils. i guess i should mention the amps rating also. the jonah is a mono d class amp. it is rated at 600 watts @ 4 ohms with 12.6volts, but at 14.4 volts it is rated at 1250watts @2 ohms. the four channel i spoke of is rated at 100x4 and has a max of 200x4. if you have any more questions, feel free to e-mail me, i am very familiar with these products, and have even met with mark, one of fusion's engineer's who designs all this stuff, so i have some inside info also. if you are interested check out their website @ www.fusioncaraudio.com. their site is pretty awesome too.

I'VE SEEN THE WEBSITE AS WELL. I WAS A LITTLE SCEPTICAL ABOUT THAT LINE AS WELL I KNOW THE RETAIL IS PRETTY HIGH EVEN MY COST ON THEM IS HIGH, A LITTLE MORE THAN HALF OF RETAIL. THE WAY IT IS SET UP ON THE WEB IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS LIKE THEY WOULD POUND PRETTY GOOD. THEY HAVE A NICE LOOKING METAL CASE WITH A FOAM TYPE OF INSULATION FOR THE PACKAGING OF THE EQUIPMENT. LIKE IN THE ABOVE REPLIES PROBABLY THE CHEAPER VERSION COULD POP UP IN THE PAWN SHOPS AS ANY OTHER BRAND AND HIGHLY UNLIKELY FOR SOMETHING COSTING $1300.00 TO SHOW UP IN A PAWN SHOP.Fusion Audio -- posted image.

ih8u37,

I am from New Zealand (where fusion started). Fusion has been in New Zealand for a while now but just recently had a huge boom in the Jonah Lomu range. When i went to the recent Auto-Salon in Auckland the other weekend, i noticed a small trend in the SPL cars at the DBdrag races...... Almost all of them have Fusion. If you can have a close look at the woofers, ask if you can see what's behind them. I think you will be very impressed with what you see. The size of it is huge!!! There are replicas out there so be careful. They are expensive but reasonably priced for what they are. Check out there site as posted above. cool website. I would also advise you have a look at the new zealand online retailers. You will find it's cheaper to buy the fusion gear here and get it shipped to america than it is ti buy them second hand in the states, example= Fusion FJL-15" 1600w woofer RRP$799NZD. Convert that to american and your looking at almost half that. This is not a biased reply as i do not have any of the fusion gear as i am still repaying my Cerwin Vega gear( but fusion will be next on the list Fusion Audio -- posted image. )

Regards and good luck.

Junior
