I purchased a Viper 5305V remote starter for my truck and can't get it to work. I have followed a few different wiring diagrams found on here and get nothing. I have the generic black key. All I Am trying to do is make the remote starter work right now. After that I will try and get the door locks to work. One thing at a time!
Here is my current wiring
RS Wires      Truck Wires
10 wire harness
RED/WHITE (+) FUSED 12V 2nd IGNITION/ACCESSORY RELAY INPUT 87             Red Battery +12
Red (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 RELAY INPUT   Red Battery +12
Green STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)        Yellow key side of starter Starter 1
Violet (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)   Yellow Truck side of starter Starter 1
Orange (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT Blue Accessory 1
Pink/WHT (+) 2nd IGNITION/ACCESSORY RELAY OUTPUT (30 of onboard relay)    Pink/Green Ignition 2
Pink (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT            Pink Ignition 1
RED/BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACCESSORY/STARTER RELAY INPUT      Red/Blue not sure
PINK/BLACK* 2nd IGNITION/ACCESSORY ISOLATION WIRE (87a of onboard relay) Not Used
5 pin
Red Fused +12V Red
Black          Ground
Relay
86&87          Red +12V on truck
30             Pink/yellow on truck Accessory 2
85             Orange on the 24 pin connector labeled .200mA Accessory output
Now the truck wont start even with the key. I know that is because the yellow wire is cut but would think the signal to start would go through the remote starter box. I am having trouble with just about every aspect of this. I can't seem to enable the remote programming function which is weird because some times I can press the door lock unlock buttons on 1 of the remotes and I will get the light on the control led to flash and the other remote (the one with the screen) will beep when that happens but I can't get the remote with the screen to make the control Led to do anything.
Please help!!!
THANKS!!!!!
Andy

Hi Andy,
Looks pretty close. Assuming the vehicle has an Auto Trans.
Here is a diagram of the main ignition switch connector :

Use all three Red +12V constant ignition sources. Your main problem is the Vipers three +12V fused inputs (Red, Red/White and Red/Black). You want to connect the Red/Black fused wire to +12V constant. This wire supplies power for the Starter and ACC1 outputs. The extra relay for ACC2 is good.
You will need to connect the Vipers Black/White Parking Brake (Neutral Safety) wire to Chassis Ground.
You must connect the Vipers' Brown Brake Input wire for R/S shutdown / key takeover.
Brake Detection   WHITE/TAN (+)   AT SWITCH ABOVE PEDAL
For a Diesel Engine you can set a fixed WaitToStart delay with Viper Menu 3 Feature 10.
Parking Lights are a MUX type control at the steering column. You will need another relay and resistor to get the R/S to turn them on. Diagram below :

That worked!!! I just needed the brake wire grounded and now it works. It still does not start with the key. Any thoughts on that? Also I am having one hell of a time programming the main starter fob. I follow the instructions and the remote starter will not go into program mode.
I open the door   turn the key to the on position and press the button on the antenna and them hold it in and i never get the light on the module to blink.
Thanks for the input
Andy

If the Viper is in an Alarm condition it will open that normal Starter path and prevent a key start. Try pressing Unlock on the Viper remote. If you don't have the Parking Lights connected/working you won't see anything but might hear the Vipers' relay click.
You won't be able to do any Viper programming without having the Vipers Green Door Trigger Input wire connected. You can fake the Viper out by touching this wire to Chassis Ground when it says to open a door to enter programming mode.
