I recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler that has a Hornet 740T alarm installed. The previous owner had purchased a 508D and had it installed but said he had nothing but problems with it so he had it removed and of course has no installation or owners manual. I would like to try to reinstall it but have no idea what wires go where. I have the original harness from the 508D but it is 4 prong (Blue, Green, Red, Black) and the Hornet only has a place to plug in a 3 prong harness. Also is there anywhere I can get these manuals because I knwo DEI will not let me download them.

That 3 pin port is for door lock.
Do a search and you will see this question come up alot and the answers.
The reason the previous owner had problem was because there was no external shock sensor so that there could be warn away and full trigger.
But if you want to install it without warn away, wire it like this
red- 12v
black- ground
blue- blue wire of the alarm, on the 12pin main harness (instant trigger)
Seeing how there isnt a warn away, i say there is no point for the 508d. The shock sensor, or door trigger would do fine for intrusion.

That is not how it was explained to me by two different local DEI dealers. That bites. SO if I add an external shock sensor then I can have the warn away correct? My situation is that with it being a Jeep the top is down more than it is up and I have already had my console stolen without the door ever being opened.

You cannot add another shock sensor, i am saying that since your alrm has built in sensor. It is not like most with external sensor. If you did (which u dont and cannot without getting a new brain), you would be able to make your connects along the line of the external sensor.
Just wire it up like above (you do not have warn away), so when som1 enters the interior of the jeep, it will set it off. Shrink the size of the dome to your interior Only. So that when some1 is standing next to it, it wont go off.

It sure is nice to know that a company like Directed has such knowledgable reps. Kinda mkes me want to take the alarm back because I would have purchased a different one had I known that upfront.

the 740T is just one of the model that doesnt have extra port. The previous person should have gotten a higher model.
There are others that has built in shock sensor and a port meant for the 508D.
727T has built in shock sensor and extra port.

Not doubting your knowledge, which is obviously greater than mine in this field, but just asking a question to try to understand and learn. I have read that the geeen and blue can be wired to the multiplex output of the alarm and it will work like it was designed. Is this correct or not?

You mean the multiplex input, not output.

Look at the last page of the file. You do not have a multiplex input, that is only avaible on the plug-in shock sensor, which you do not have.
Was wrong about how to wire it up, should be
red - 12v
black- orange Ground when armed
blue- blue wire, instant trigger

Actually the correct way to wire it would be:
Red- constant power
Black- ground or ground when armed
BLUE AND GREEN- Blue multiplex input.
Also if you look at Page 5:
H1/6 BLUE (-) multiplex trigger input, zone 1
This wire will respond to a negative input with an instant trigger. Inputs shorter than 0.8 seconds will trigger the Warn Away response, while triggers longer than 0.8 seconds will instantly trigger the full alarm cycle. This wire is ideal for hood and trunk pins and will report on Zone 1. This wire can also be used with Directed Electronics 506T Glass Breakage Sensor, as well as other Directed Electronics single stage sensors.
The H1/6 BLUE multiplex trigger wire can be used to shunt sensors during operation, using the auxiliary channels. When any of the auxiliary channels are transmitted, the H1/6 BLUE wire monitors for a ground. If ground H1/6 BLUE (-) multiplex trigger input, zone 1
H1/5 GREEN (-) door trigger input, zone 3
H1/4 BLACK/ WHITE (-) interior light illumination output

is detected within 5 seconds of transmission, the sensors and the multiplex trigger input on the BLUE wire will be shunted until 5 seconds after the ground is removed. This allows the customer to access the trunk, remote start the vehicle, or roll the windows down without first disarming the alarm. (See Bypassing Sensor Inputs section of this guide.)

Wow im a noob.
Never knew blue wire monitors like that. Ive always been using it for trunk.
But wire it like Auex says and it will be right 100%.
