On the sub issue. You seem rather concerned about it being "boomy." Your design and construction of the enclosure will generally have a larger effect on this than the woofer selected. I've heard great things about that infinity line for the price. I'd say go for it.
I don't think I'd be throwing quite that much power at a single infinity. It isn't that you couldn't - if you were careful, I just don't see any reason why you would want to. Save some money and get a Memphis 16-MC500D instead of the 1000w version.

Well, There are a lot of subs out there, that no matter what enclosure you put them in, that just sound boomy.
By boomy, I mean excessively loud compared to the rest of the frequency range. I don't want the bass frequencies to be overenphasized. As you can probably tell, I am going for the "ultimate" in sound quality.
If I were going for mainly SPL, I would throw a Adire 12in in there, but with this system, the Adire would definitely overpower the Main speakers. And that is exactly what I do not want.

One SPW1200D is plenty. I highly recommend it! Here is a picture of mine (i sold it a couple weeks ago) but it was great! NAKAREVISED.jpg
"I don't play games. I play Nakamichi and that for real yo" - Probably some japanese kid said this in the early 80's trying to sell stereo out of his trunk lol.

I think you may be a tad confused.  The infinity or the nakamichi subs you're looking at are just as likely to be "excessively loud" as the Adire.  In fact, Adire xbl^2 enabled subs are generally regarded as higher SQ subs than either Nak or Infinity.

I stand by what I said earlier.  The enclosure will play a much larger factor in balancing your system than the subwoofer itself for sq.  For sq you're simply looking at clean, accurate, and deep for the sub.  Then build a low q sealed sub box for low extenstion and transient response.  Finally, attenuate sub output at the deck or amplifier level to match speaker levels.  I don't see what the "overpowering" concern is.

Furthermore, I don't see how shopping between brands like this is going to help or hurt you with regards to "overpowering" or "boomy" or whatever you want to call it.

You may respond by saying you've heard many systems that were too boomy or overpowering with bass.  Right... but those people either designs their systems that way or didn't know what the hell they were doing.
