I'm going to be arrogantly self-promoting here. 03 mustang mach 1 rs 1000 - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image. You should read my sticky post, which in detail explains immobilizers(assuming you haven't read it already).
Personally I'd go with an XK04(PKFORD firmware) or a 755T2 from Bypasskit/Directed.
If you have another manufacturer in mind that's fine too...but I'd recommend you use a data bypass and not an RF type. Fords are a giant PITA to get an antenna ring/pellet positioned right.

yes you can, it still works, soldering just gives you the best possible connection. for a diy er this is easier also if your leasing a car it is easily removable with minimal damage. be sure you have solid connections when using this method

When soldering you don't have to cut the wires in half - just strip 1/2 inch or so of the insulation back off of the factory wiring, twist your remote start's wiring onto that, and you're golden.
Also, those Posi-lok connectors will probably be durable, but if you're trying to stealth the alarm install it's a lot easier to conceal a soldered or crimped connection.
