I have a 04 Dodge Ram 1500 gas. Im installing Prestige Model APS-920 with bypass Xpresskit XK531. i got the prestige hooked up  and working ive read that most Dodge rams dont need a bypass. Ive try remote star the truck but it shuts off right away,so im thinking it does need a bypass. The truck has no factory alarm so my problem is how can i know when the bypass module is programed when it dont show security key light on dash cuz it dont have one. If Any have any info on the remote star or bypass would be a big help since first time using this kind of  alarm and bypass Thanks for any help.

it sounds like you may need to program the tach signal. are you using tach signal monitoring or voltage? if tach did you program it to the remote start? and does your truck have the key with the gray head?

Thanks for the quick response. I have it as a voltage tach signal and the key is black head. and does the tach need to be installed if your going off voltage? Thanks

no. if your not using tach monitoring you dont need to hook up the tach wire or program the tach. is there a setting for high voltage or low voltage monitoring? you may need to change it to the opposite of what it is now. and are you sure you changed the settings to have the unit on voltage and not tach?
