cap question

im installing a cap and i hear that you have to have it 18inchs from your amp is this true and why do you have to. thanks

its true ! and the reason is the furter away you mount it the more resistance the current has so for optimal performance it must be within 18 inches.

if you move it further away from the amp. It slows down the reaction time of the cap. The further away, the more it defeats the purpose of a cap.

The maximum recommended distance from the amp to the cap is 18". There is no minimum distance.
