Well, I went and bought some diodes and and tried the 4 relays diagram and still was not able to get this to work.
Any other ideas?

I'm looking to utilize this switch to power driving lights on my brush guard of my truck. To turn on and off the lights I like to push the button to turn them on and when pushing a second time it turns them off.
This sort of request has already been addresses here. I simply clicked on SEARCH and typed "brush".

It's on the first page under: the12volt's install bay / Lights, Neon, LEDs, HIDs
In this case the relays are driven from the fog light switch in order to reduce modification in the cab by using the existing assemblies.
You existing setup should work of you have the correct switch. If you have a SPST relay and an ON\OFF rocker switch, and it is wired so that ON switches the 12v of the relay coil, then you should have a relay that engages as long as that switch is on and you have a 12v supply. FLIP the switch to the OFF position and the relay unlatches and there will be no 12v to the lights, I don't see how it can be more complicated than this.

Hi
I believe this thread also describes what I'm trying to accomplish as well.
I want to install some LED strips under the hood, to be turned on / off via a relay. With a magnetic switch to control the relay, energizing when the hood is raised. Would a diode across 86 and 85 be necessary for this to work properly? And can I run a single power source to both the magnetic switch and pin 86 of the relay or should I find a separate sources for them?
Thank you for your excellent site!
