sub wiring?

I have a Kenwood KAC-9105D amplifier and 2 different sets (2 subs a set) of Pioneer dual voice coil subs. Set 1 has dual 2ohm voice coils and Set 2 has dual 4ohm voice coils. Link to the subs I am using The amp is a mono amp. At 2ohm the watt output is 900 and at 4ohm its 500. Max output is 1800watts. The subs are rated for 800watt rms and 3000watt max, same for both sets. Currently I have sub set 2 wired. I have the voice coils of each sub wired in series to get 8ohms per sub. Then I have the subs wired in parallel to get 4ohms final. Any other possible ways to wire these subs to the amp? Which subs should I use and how should I wire them? Here's another question. The subs are rated for 800watt rms and the amp at 2ohms is rated for 900watt rms. Will I without a doubt damage the subs if I wire the subs in a way to get 2ohms final? I was thinking of putting in sub set 1. I would wire the dual voice coils for each sub in series to get 4ohms per sub, and then wire the subs in parallel to get 2ohms final. But I don't want to do this if I will damage the subs. Thanks! I've installed a few basic systems before but never really dealt with multiple dual voice coil subs wired to a mono amp. With all the numbers my head starts spinning after a while.

I would use the dual 2ohm set and wire each sub to 4 ohm and then wire one sub per terminal giving u a 2 ohm load in the end, I have the kenwood 9103D amp (previous model) wired to a 4ohm dvc kicker 15 and each vc is wired to the terminals and it hits hardMastermindz

Thanks I wired up the 2ohm dvc subs today. dvc's are wired in series per sub, then the subs are wired in parallel before getting to the amp. What confuses me is these mono amps. Its a mono amp but has terminals for 2 subs. What does the dual terminals do internally within the amp? Does it wire the subs in parallel internally?

So this is almost what I did, but instead I wired the subs in parallel outside the amp and just used 1 set of terminals at the amp. From what your saying I should split them up? Would this make a difference?

Yes if u wire your subs in series each sub will present a 4ohm load to each terminal on the amp, so connect sub 1 to the first set and sub 2 to the next set and the amp will turn it into 2 ohm mono.Mastermindz

either way is the same. inside the amp the 2 positive terminals are connected to each other and same with the negatives. they give you 2 sets of terminals so you could use a larger gauge speaker wire and not have to worry about the wire fitting the terminal
