Hello.
I'm installing another remote start and keyless entry system and I have a few questions. I have the directwire document for the Chevy Silverado, and I'm assuming the 1500 and 2500 trucks are wired the same. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that.
This is a base model truck with power locks, no power windows. According to the directwire the locks are wired as such:
"On base model trucks, the interface module is not necessary. Instead, the lock wire is lt. blue (-), pin B5, and the unlock wire is white(-), pin B10. They are in the lt. blue plug at the BCM."
Sounds simple enough, however the diagram for the 5301 shows the blue lock wire as being lock(+) and unlock(-), and the green lock wire as lock(-) and unlock(+). I assume that when the lock button is pressed, blue goes to 12V+ and green goes to ground, and the opposite for unlock.
Can I just hook these directly to the lock and unlock wires on the BCM? Or will the opposing wire going to 12V+ burn up the BCM? Seems like the BCM only expects ground as an input at these locations. I don't have a problem hooking up relays to avoid the situation, but I'm trying to keep it simple.

you will be fine connecting the lock/unlock outputs from the 5301 directly to the wires at the BCM. the lt. blue and white rest with voltage present so a 12v pulse will not hurt anything
