2000 Altima factory disarm

I'm installing a viper 300 esp on a 2000 nissan altima. The car came with a factory security system with keyless entry. Is it nessecary to hook up the factory disarm and arm wires to the viper's door lock outputs?? Would problems arise if I dont connect this??? Somebody please explain this a little better to me cuz I'm a bit confused.

Yes if the vehicle is armed when locked and unarmed when unlock. Can soemone else confirm this. I would advise you to acquire a wiring diagram. It will help you understand the installation directions. Do your research and take your time. Good luck

So far, I have only the lock and unlock wires hooked up. Will I run into any problems? So far, I havent. Its locking and unlocking the doors fine, and doesnt sound the factory alarm when I disarm the viper(and it unlocks the doors upon disarming). I'm starting to wonder if I only need the factory arm and disarm wires if i'm doing remote start. Is anyone else familiar with this??

If you arm the Viper alarm with the door open and then close the door it will arm the factory alarm. To see what I mean do the following: Open drivers door, hit lock button on door and then close the door. The factory alarm will arm because it thinks you are exiting the car. You will then need to turn the key in the door to unlock or use the factory remote to disarm the factory alarm. Next get in the car and close the doors. Hit the lock button on the door. The factory alarm will not arm because it thinks you are in the car. With the Viper alarm hooked up without the factory arm and disarm wires, the factory alarm hasn't armed yet because you probably have only been arming it with the doors closed. Try opening the drivers door and arming the Viper. Close the door and see if the factory alarm arms. This is where you would run into a problem if you don't hook up the arm and disarm wires.
