I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX with the v6 engine. My grandfather bought the cars brand new in 98 and it has been in my family since then. When he bought it he had a remote start put in. I'm not sure who put it in and he recently passed away so I can't ask him. I got the car from my mom a little over a year ago. She told me last winter that the lock and unlock worked but It wouldn't start the car. I use to work for geek squad a few years ago and installed auto starts, we only installed vipers and this is an Astrostart, but I do have atleast a general knowledge of how they work and such. So I took a look at it last winter and I got it to start as long as I had a key in the ignition. Now this winter has hit, and of course I didn't use it all summer long but now I can't get jt to start no matter what I do. If I use a key and turn it, it starts perfect every time no problem at all but when I try to start it with the autostart all the lights come on as normal and then it just cranks and turns over for about five seconds and then shuts off. And doesn't start I've tried both the keys I have in the ignition and it doesn't start I've tried giving it a small bout of gas while it's turning over and no luck I pull I pulled the brain down and followed the wires and made sure there was no cuts in the wires and that they were all still connected to the correct wires none of them were touching or anything like that and I can't seem to find anything wrong anything that looks like it could be wrong or any burnt wires or anything disconnected anywhere. I should also mention that up untill the summer before I got the car it worked absolutely perfect without any problems. Any suggestions or ideas it would be very helpful I live in North Dakota where it is currently -15° and supposed to get colder next week so it would be very nice to have this back working again if you have any questions feel free to ask I will answer the best that I can.

sounds like you may have a few issues.. if it started before with the Key in the ignition, something is wrong with the bypass.. if now it "cranks" but doesn't start even with the key in the ignition, my money is you blew the ignition fuse on the astrostart.
