Absolutely.  Just make sure you take some acoustics classes (if there are any offered) as that's going to be important to know as well.  Also, think about trying to get an internship at a car stereo shop cuz you'll be amazed at how important some of the stuff you can learn from there will be.  There will be a lot of stuff that you just can't learn from classes.

A place like DEI or Alpine would much rather employ an EE who also has an installation background because this means you know the real-world side to all of the technology; plus you'll have a better understanding of the increasingly complex vehicles in which these products are used, and that can be a very valuable asset.

I'm not trying to downplay the importance of an EE degree because knowing WHY things happen is obviously extremely important.  Not to mention you can get a job just about anywhere with an EE degree, even if you have no actual experience doing the stuff.  But I'm just trying to suggest things that will help you make yourself more attractive to potential employers in the future......things that will have them offering you $80k a year instead of $40k or $50electrical engineer? - Last Post -- posted image..

Just out of curiosity, where are you going to college?
