If i wire (3) subs in parallel, will the rms be equal to the sum of the 3 woofers, or with the rms remain equal to that of one sub?

The RMS will be equal to the 3 subs combined. So if you had (3) 300 watt subs you would have a total of 900 watts rms. and you would need a 900 watt amp to push them. But you must also make sure that the independence of the subs wired in parallel doesn’t exceed the capabilities of the amp.

Exactly. Make sure u wire it CORRECTLY. Get a good amp.

My philosphy is: As long as you have a good amp, subs are irelevant.

Special-K, you might want to re-think that philosophy. Even though having a good amp with minimum distortion (clean signal) is essential to any system, matching it with the same or better quality subs is also essential. Saying "subs are irelevant" as long as you have a good amp is like saying "I put 103 octane in my Pinto so it should be able to run 9's in the quarter!"
