Hi guys...

I was thinking about using a 1F capacitor for my 2 amps (400x1 and 40x4).  However, the manual included w/ my capacitor says to use a distribution block BEFORE the capacitor (ie, the block goes in between the battery and cap).  Are they just trying to con me into buying another one of their capacitors?  My two questions:

1) Does it matter?  Why can't I use the distribution block AFTER the cap? (ie, battery goes to capacitor which goes to distribution block).

2) If it does matter, I was thinking of using the cap solely on my 400x1 and not worrying about the 40x4 (which is high-freq filtered anyway).  Does this sound like a sound plan?

As always...thank you!

Colin

You can wire a cap in many ways. They recommend putting the distro block before the cap to put a fuse inbetween the battery and the cap.
If you want the cap to only be used by 1 amp, then wire it after the distro-block, and inline with the amp (on the same power wire).
If you want all amps to use it, then either wire it on its own part of the distro-block (not in-line with any amp's power lines), or put the distro-block after the cap.
I know it sounds wierd, but if you run some searches on caps in this forum then you will find your answers. We've hit this same question many times before.
