This is my first alarm install and it is in a 1993 mitsubishi Eclipse. Anyways, to the problem. The alarm has a fused (+) output for parking light flash. The switch on my car's console grounds a wire when the parking lights are turned on. I installed a relay on that wire so that the relay grounds that pin every time a positive voltage is input. Anyways, to my question... Is it bad to have it hooked up this way? Basically there are now two relays being tripped each time (my relay and the factory relay) and should I change this so that just the new relay I have installed powers and turns on the lights? Thanks for any info, it is much appreciated.

You didn't mention the alarm type brand.
If the lights out option ONLY puts out + then you have no other choice. you just doubled up the work. By moving this off that relay you'd have to trigger off the horn honk or siren output which just be annoying.

I dont really think it would be a problem.... if you are simulating the lights being turned on i really dont see what bad could happen...

if you remove the vehicles parking light relay the parlimg lights wont even work. the easiest and most productive way is to keep both relays in there as both relays are NEEDED.
I like cars more than women, because their the perfect challenge.
