Need help w/crimestopper&passlk

Ok, I might have done some bad things, but hope not. I bought a Crimestopper RS900VI and have a 2001 chevy 2500. First let me say I didn't know this truck had a passlock system. but here we go. I started connecting this RS to my truck and got everything connected and tried to start it with the RS and nothing happened, lights came on and the RS brain clicked but never turned over. after scratching all the hair out of my head I decided to forget about it until today and put the key in and nothing, would not start with the key, So panic struck me. so I left the key in and pushed the start button on the RS and it started (only runs for 24 min) I now realize I have to get a bypass, I am getting a DEI 555L tomorrow. Is this a good one? how easy is it to hookup? but back to the original question. Why won't it start with the key? even if I unplug the RS key still doesn't work. Have I messed it up bad or will it be ok once I get the bypass in?

hi when you turn the key to on does the security or theft light flash if so leave key on for about 10 min possibly even 1 hour wait till the light stops flashing then it will start with the key.If light does not flash but stays on when truck is running then you may have to have computer reset at dealer but try leaving key on for up to 1 hour this sometimes resets computer.
