Do I need to remove the ingnition switch (which is on the dash) to access the Passlock II Reference and resistance wires?  Tips? Hints?

Make sure that you know the code for the radio prior to removing the radio. Also, removing the bezel on the dash will reveal the 2 phillips screws holding the top of the key cylinder in place. You can access the wires through the instrument cluster, but if you are trying to install a remote starter, you have to remove the radio any way.

my friend there are no passlock wires accessible from the radio cavity.  so behind the radio would actually be "the hard way"  but thank you for posting.
