I have a 1000 watt 2ohm amp and was planning on running 2 10 inch kicker L7's, but I am now thinking of eclipse. Are the aluminum 12" subs great, or should I stick with the L7's?  I dont really listen to rap, mainly rock, i want quality or spl's.  ANy other subs people would like to tell me about would be great also.

what type of 1000watt amp are we talking about, as long as you have true power i would go with the eclipse's   L7's are very far from a sound quality sub

Eclipse Eclipse subs - Last Post -- posted image.  ! Build the box to 1.25 cu.ft gross volume for each chamber. Make sure the box has a center divider (solid). Double up the baffle board if you can. Seal the inside of the box with silicone and spray paint the inside of the box. If you are putting terminal cups in the box, make sure you silicone them in as well. These subs spank, they have  really really good sq, muti tone bass response, depth with authority and play to a good spl level as well. I used to match the Rockford BD1000 to these subs all the time and have never ever had an unhappy customer.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
