Hello everyone.  I love this sight. It has alot of good information!!!!

I have a question though if anybody can help.  Can a remote starter alarm system start a carbureted engine?  I have a 1988 oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme RWD 5.0L engine and I'm installing a Autopage RS-750LCD alarm with remote start.  It would be nice to use the remote start if I can.  Can anybody help?

thanks

Greg

Yes, in a way ?? You need the use of a trunk release solenoid wired to the AUX channel of the RS. When you press the AUX channel this will activate the trunk solenoid to pull the throttle cable and this will replicate the accelerator being pushed down. Press the AUX channel as many times as it takes for you to start the car and on top of that you can kick down the revs after it has run for a couple of minutes.

Would the solenoid be safe under the hood or should I connect it  under the dash?  I mean, it wouldn't want it to burn out because of the heat from the engine.

The solenoids are designed for inside the car so you can even attach it to the pedal arm itself or the cable if you can access this.
