you should have two gray / YELLOW wires these are both ignitions ,you may even have 3 of these wires.Your tach can be gray/orange.tan / YELLOW,or white pink at the ignition switch. your accesory is BLACK/ light green. your main ignition is RED / light green, your starter is WHITE/ pink. tricky car but dont worry to much about the guage of the wire because in ford they tend to be small thats the way they are meant to work.

in a remote start you want to ideally utilizew all wires that the factory uses in order to not have problems .if ford uses 3 wires use them all that is the right way to do it dont cut corners or ther eusually will be problems. YOU have 3 ignitions this will take some relays to make work corect or if you wanna rig you can diode them but i would use relays.you have only one acc wire but one of those 3 ignitions control your heat so use them all. you have about 5 yellow constant power wires use 2 of them to split the current load. You have one starter thats all. good luck and get a (dmm) its a good idea.

YOU have 3 ignitions:
Well, when I looked under there, I only saw one Ignition wire (RED / light green), so I used that one.

you have only one acc wire but one of those 3 ignitions control your heat so use them all.

I saw 3 grey / YELLOWs and 1 BLACK/ green wire.  When I connected it to one of the grey / YELLOWs,
the A/C worked.  So I guess i'll use that.  (When I used the BLACK/ green, it didn't work....when I used
one of the other grey / YELLOWs it didn't work either.  When I used the 3rd grey / YELLOW, it worked.)

you have about 5 yellow constant power wires use 2 of them to split the current load.

got it.

Is the tach wire the only wire that will show A/C voltage (between 2 and 6)?  Or would other wires at the ignition harness do the same, causing me to use the wrong wire?

nothing else should show that ac voltage but a tach wire the starter ignition etc will all read dc.

whaT IS YOUR PROBLEM EXACTLY?????  I ASSUME THE REMOTE START WORKS THE OTHER WIRES YOU TALK ABOUT DONT CONTROL THE AIR THEY CONTROL MAYBE THE TRANS THE STUFF LIKE THAT. IT DONT MATTER THAT ONE WIRE DID NOT CONTROL THE AIR THAT IS A IGNITION AND NEEDS TO BE POWERED UNLESS MAYBE YOU DONT MIND A WARNING LIGHT ON YOUR DASH IF IT IS NOT THERE ALREADY. MIMICTHE FACTORY AND YOU WILL BE OK DO IT RIGHT AND MIMIC THE FACTORY THATS  ALL YOU HAVE TO DO. IF THE FACTORY HAS 3 WIRES THAT SHOW VOLTAGE ON IGNITION POWER ALL THEM WITH AN IGNITION OFF THE REMOTE START TO TRIGER RELAYS. IF YOU TURNED YOUR CAR ON WITH THE KEY AND SOME THINGS DID NOT POWER UP THE COMPUTER WILL THINK THEREE IS A MALFUNCTION AND DISPLAY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ABS LIGHT, AIR BAG LIGHT WATEVER AND SOMETIMES THIS REQUIRES A TRIP TO THE DELAER  TO ERASE.DO YOU HAVE A METER????? I DONT THINK YOU DO GET ONE YOU NEED IT.
