check everything like your hood pin switch, your ground, your power wires.

Try remote starting, and when doing so, place a meter on the start wire and see if it gets current. If it does then it may very whell still be a vats problem,

Velocity you're my hero heh. I hadn't thought about the ground wire, I don't know why. I switched it to another ground bolt on my frame and sure enough it starts fine 99% of the time. And I spent 30 hours trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong with my VATS bypass :)

Thanks a lot guys, for all the help, and especially Velocity for pointing out the obvious (you never check that first you know).
