I shuffled my feet too long and now I'm having a hard time finding the head unit I was planning on useing (alpine 9815). My local store told me they aren't making them anymore, but conveniently they had the "replacement" for that one, and it only costs a couple hundred more. I've checked a few online stores, most are sold out, and 2 that I've talked to say they should be getting a shipment in soon (by the end of the month at the latest). So you folks that might have some insight, whats the deal? Is the unit still being made and sold (once restocked), or is it a think of the past?
And if it is a thing of the past, and someone has one they'd like to get rid of... Alpine 9815, is it avalible? - Last Post -- posted image.

Its true, they were replaced with the much nicer cda-9835.  But there is no price difference at all. between the 2.  tell that to your dealer!.   I know for certain that they are still available, alpine has many in stock still.

Don't do it, all the new Alpine Decks just came out (i'm using the 9815) bought it a year ago... All their new decks with all the new features just came out the 9815 is now equal too the 9833 and 9835, except the 33 and 35 have alot of new features like the 35 has the Biolite display. Unless you really really want the 9815 which is an awsome Deck and I have had no troubles with it I would say go with the 2004 models that just came out!

Thanks guys, I had completely forgot about ebay. I'm still not 100% sure what to do. I can get the 9815 for around $400, but I haven't seen the 9835 for less than $550, kind of a big price jump when I wasn't expecting it lol. I must say that the 9833 and other decks (excluding the 35) have an ugly display though Alpine 9815, is it avalible? - Last Post -- posted image.

I have to agree, but 530 is what the 9815's first retailed at, and I bought mine for 250 on ebay so keep looking for a lower price then that I know Etronics.com has the 9815 for 340 dollers or somewhere in that price range...
