Say between Kenwood amps: two 60x2 amps or one 60x4 amp. Used to run front/rear channels – period (no tri-CH, etc.).

I’m shooting for the two 60x2 amps, basically easier to layout under the front seats (compared to the larger 4 CH amp footprint).

All things being equal, is there an advantage to the 4 CH amp?

It will run cooler, and when you start to lower ohms sound quality (THD) does take a hit, but I am ont sure if it is noticable.  My crap is usually pretty high so i cant tell either way.

Exactly.  Four channel amps save space.  Otherwise, they tend to be the same as 2-channel at the same quality level.
