hey I have a 1979 oldsmobile cutlass supreme and the wiring for the head unit is not like the standard rectangle plug and I have no idea how to connect the wiring on the beast.  The wiring plugs that are present on the car are 2 round connectors with 5 or 6 wires each and I have no corelation as to what that they would connect on the now standard rectanglular plug.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey wildbilld,
I suggest to look beyond the connectors for the typical GM colors as follows:
Wire Color = Function
GRY = Speaker Return Left Front
TAN = Speaker Feed Left Front
DK GRN = Speaker Return Right Front
LT GRN = Speaker Feed Right Front
BLK = Ground
PPL/WHT = LED Dimming Signal
GRY = Instrument Panel Lamp Feed
YEL = Fuse Accessory
ORN = Fuse Battery
PNK = Power Antenna On

LT BLU = Speaker Return Right Rear
DK BLU = Speaker Feed Right Rear
YEL = Speaker Return Left Rear
BRN = Speaker Feed Left Rear
Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
