Can someone please help me with the wiring diagram for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
I am in the middle of installing a Python 1600XP alarm and remote start and it's being very time consuming mostly due to my inexperience.
Also I want to open the trunk with the remote my question is, do I hook the aux cable from the brain to the trunk switch (in glove box) or to the trunk pin on BCM.I want my alarm to trigger whenever the trunk is opened (like a door) will it do that just by hooking the aux wire to the trunk open switch or do I need to connect it to the doors trigger wire
Also any tips would be apreciated.

I think you are a little confused over the definition of the trunk release output and the trunk pin input.
The RED / black wire at the light in the trunk goes to the blue wire in the primary harness on the 1600XP. There are a couple blue wires...you want the one next to the green and violet door trigger inputs.
My info for trunk release on your car says it is positive trigger. The output of the 1600XP is negative. Connect the RED / white wire from the brain to terminal 85 on a relay. Connect 86 and 30 on that relay to a 10 amp fused power source. Connect 87 to the BLACK/ white wire at the trunk release switch.

I am almost finished hooking up my alarm and Yeaterday when I was trying out all the functions, everything worked except for the trunk release, I used a relay and hooked everything up as described above but it's still not working, am I missing something else, do I need a diode or a resistor somewhere.
I'm using a 12V, 30A relay that I got at an auto parts store.

Did you use a SPDT relay or a SPST relay ? Make sure that it has 5 prongs on it

It does have 5 prongs, 30, 85, 86 and two 87's.
tried both of the 87's as the output - separately - no success.

No I used the diagram that is somewhere in this site,
I had 12V on prongs 30 and 86 instead of 30 and 85 like on your diagram. The (-) output from my alarm was going to prong 85 instead of 86. That is the way that the diagram that I looked at is.

Do you think that, that may be my problem then.
Also there is a small diagram on my istallation guide and it has prongs
30 Switched trunk release
86 +12V
85 Output from my alarm
87 +12V if +switched and ground if -switched, I tried
+12V on this, did not work either.
