Hello all, I was wondering if someone knew of a replacement door panel location on the internet. I want to start trying to "re-do" the bottom half of my 98 expedition doors, or possibly toy with a complete skin fof the entire door. However, I would feel much more comfortable knowing I had a replacement if I needed it when it comes time to start working with the original.

Lots of glass questions to come, I've been reading where maddog and fishman do complate door panels by using 1/4" mdf panel and then 3/4" mdf for the lip and start at that point, but I cant invision getting the correct entire panel created and replaceing the original like they do, now something that adds onto the existing "skining" the original sounds more doable, anyone ever do it? I mean I've done the Old 1/4" panels for square controless Toyota pickups, but never anything with so much contour and movement..

Thanks

If you are going to redo them then go to a junkyard and buy the panels there and use them to play with. There are a couple of ways to do a complete panel, you can do it the way that you mentioned or you can fiberglass the base instead of using wood and build from there.

I doubt seriously you will be able to find them in a junkyard. Your best bet is ebay. I saw some on ebay and i took a look at these panels. Thought it would give you some ideas http:///.com/ebaymotors/dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2481404544&category=38646

You should be able to find them at a junkyard.  find a junkyard with a good inventory that way you can just call them and they'll be able to tell you right away.  Definately check ebay.
