Might sound dumb but, would it be possible to use the 12v computer fans in a vehicle?  I'd like to get something like this http://www.silenx.com/productcart/pc/viewCat_Z.asp?idCategory=3 to cool my amps, but I don't know if they are dc and I know a computer is ac.   Any ideas?

Computer fans usually work fine, the ones I have used work fine. They are both about 12V dc. There was a topic about this a few weeks ago...

If you are buying them anyway and they arent just ones laying around your house why not just get fans off of partsexpress or something, or even just go to radioshack and they have fans there for like $5 that are almost the same size as a computer fan and are just labeled 12vdc fan, or you could just take a meter to your computer fan or plug it in,t hat would be the easiest way to check
