Ive just recently tried to install a sony flip face/detach cd reciever into a 94 nissan sunny.I went  ahead and brought a multimeter and have had no luck at all in determining wich is the +12V(constant) and the +12v(switched) i cant get a reading from any of them. Could sum1 tell me what the problem might be (i have been grounding the black and am gettin a 13V reading from the cigarette lighter thingee).I cant find any wiring color charts for a nissan sunny and am hesitant to pay $40 to get my uint installed by a pro., can sum1 help me out please i would be very greatfull.

hey drunkfish are you planning on installing amps and basically some sort of a system in this car if so dont use the factory wires, run your own power, ignition, ground because factory wiring can bring noise into your sytem that you dont want. Also dont use the fuse block as a source in your car because that is also a noise problem area instaed take it to the battery or ignition switch is good.

Now as for your problem if you say you have no power on any of the wires you must have blown a fuse or you have not chose a good ground for your meter. find a nice piece of metal to ground your meter if there is paint then scrape down in to it with the point of the meter so you will get a  accurate reading. But again stay away from factory wiring this will save youy a headache later believe me.
