I plan on getting a CODE ALARM SURESTART LX installed on my manual transmission 1998 Volvo S70 T5. I know that the installers in my area will NOT do the remote start function, but my question is, is the wiring for the remote start the same as the starter kill ?? If it is could I not just activate the remote start myself from the brainbox, etc. ?? Thanks again for any info. God Bless.

No, unfortunately it's not that simple.  You have to power the ignition wires, the accesory wires, install an anti-theft bypass module(so that the car thinks that the key is in the ignition switch), hook into the tachometer wire(so alarm can tell if car is actually running or not), disarm the factory alarm, and a couple of other things that i cant remember.  I just looked that car up and it looks to be quite a nitemare to wire a remote starter if you are not a qualified installer.  Its something better left to a professional.  You may ahve to look around a little bit, but I am sure you can find someone that will do the install on a manual, and do it CORRECTLY, and I stress that part, so that it can cause no harm on its own.  I don't mean to rain on your day, but thems the facts.  good luck.
If it don't fit, Force it.
If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!

Thanks for the info, fortunetly I do not need the bypass as my key does not have the resistor in it. 1998 Volvo S70 T5, Remote Start wiring - Last Post -- posted image.
